The 2018 North American Kubernetes Contributor Summit to be hosted right before
\nKubeCon + CloudNativeCon<\/a> Seattle is shaping up to be the largest yet.
\nIt is an event that brings together new and current contributors alike to
\nconnect and share face-to-face; and serves as an opportunity for existing
\ncontributors to help shape the future of community development. For new
\ncommunity members, it offers a welcoming space to learn, explore and put the
\ncontributor workflow to practice.<\/p>\n

Unlike previous Contributor Summits, the event now spans two-days with a more
\nrelaxed \u2018hallway\u2019 track and general Contributor get-together to be hosted from
\n5-8pm on Sunday December 9th at the Garage Lounge and Gaming Hall<\/a>, just
\na short walk away from the Convention Center. There, contributors can enjoy
\nbilliards, bowling, trivia and more; accompanied by a variety of food and drink.<\/p>\n

Things pick up the following day, Monday the 10th with three separate tracks:<\/p>\n

New Contributor Workshop:<\/h3>\n

A half day workshop aimed at getting new and first time contributors onboarded
\nand comfortable with working within the Kubernetes Community. Staying for the
\nduration is required; this is not a workshop you can drop into.<\/p>\n

Current Contributor Track:<\/h3>\n

Reserved for those that are actively engaged with the development of the
\nproject; the Current Contributor Track includes Talks, Workshops, Birds of a
\nFeather, Unconferences, Steering Committee Sessions, and more! Keep an eye on
\nthe schedule in GitHub<\/a> as content is frequently being updated.<\/p>\n

Docs Sprint:<\/h3>\n

SIG-Docs will have a curated list of issues and challenges to be tackled closer
\nto the event date.<\/p>\n

To register for the Contributor Summit, see the Registration section of the
\nEvent Details in GitHub<\/a>. Please note that registrations are being
\nreviewed. If you select the \u201cCurrent Contributor Track\u201d and are not an active
\ncontributor, you will be asked to attend the New Contributor Workshop, or asked
\nto be put on a waitlist. With thousands of contributors and only 300 spots, we
\nneed to make sure the right folks are in the room.<\/p>\n
