In just a few weeks, AMD is expected to roll out its new Ryzen 3000 series of CPUs based on its Zen 2 architecture. These new parts are being built by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) on a 7-nanometer node. Looking ahead, however, TSMC is already talking about 6nm and even 5nm, the latter of which will bring improved logic
The Galaxy Fold might be getting all of attention these days when it comes to Samsung’s smartphone lineup — for all the wrong reasons — but there is a new flagship waiting in the wings. We’re of course talking about the Galaxy Note 10, which probably won’t be officially launched until sometime this summer (around August – September).
Back in early April, Microsoft announced that it would give users back control over Windows Update in Windows 10. In previous incarnations of Windows 10, Microsoft pushed out major updates to PCs based on telemetry data that it gathered from its millions of customers around the globe. If the data “gave us confidence that device would have
Although we’re used to see Lenovo laptops marketed under the ThinkPad and IdeaPad brands, it looks as though the company is introducing a new ThinkBook S family. The notebooks were spotted in China at CITE 2019, and will may eventually be sold in the United States.
The new ThinkBook S family will be available in 13.3-inch (S540-13-IWL)
It looks as though AMD has made some adjustments to it processors lineup for 2019, and at least one expected produce family has gotten the boot. In March, AMD presented its 2019 product roadmap to investors in which it clearly showed that 3rd generation Ryzen 3000 desktop processors would arrive in mid-2019, while the 3rd generation Ryzen
Huawei is a Chinese company mostly known for smartphones and networking hardware that aren’t widely available in the U.S. The reason that Huawei products aren’t offered here has to do with an ongoing feud between Huawei and the U.S. government over Huawei’s close ties to the Chinese government, something Huawei has denied. However, a major
You may not realize it, but not all GeForce RTX 2080 and GeForce RTX 2070 graphics cards are created equal. We are not just talking about the custom cooling solutions and PCBs (printed circuit boards), but the actual GPUs inside for each model—NVIDIA separates its Turing GPU dies for those models into two categories, or at least that is how
Microsoft is hard at work on its new Chromium-based browser and delivered its first Chromium-based browser test build about a month ago. However, a big issue with the Chromium-based browsers has been discovered on Windows 10, and it can seriously impeded performance. The issues was brought to light by browser maker Vivaldi and a Google researcher;
It has been nearly six years since the release of Grand Theft Auto V, and fans have been eagerly awaiting the release of the series’ next installment. Rockstar Games has not yet announced Grand Theft Auto VI, but rumors are already flying. The leaks include information about potential content and cloud gaming.

Seattle Contributor Summit
As our contributing community grows in great numbers, with more than 16,000 contributors this year across 150+ GitHub repositories, it’s important to provide face to face connections for our large distributed teams to have opportunities for collaboration and learning. In Contributor Experience, our methodology with planning events is a lot like our documentation; we build from personas – interests, skills, and motivators to name a few. This way we ensure there is valuable content and learning for everyone.
These personas combined with ample feedback from previous events, produce the altogether experience that welcomed over 600 contributors in Copenhagen (May), Shanghai(November), and Seattle(December) in 2018. Seattle’s event drew over 300+ contributors, equal to Shanghai and Copenhagen combined, for the 6th contributor event in Kubernetes history. In true Kubernetes fashion, we expect another record breaking year of attendance. We’ve pre-ordered 900+ contributor patches, a tradition, and we are looking forward to giving them to you!
With that said… Save the Dates:
Barcelona: May 19th (evening) and 20th (all day)
Shanghai: June 24th (all day)
San Diego: November 18th, 19th, and activities in KubeCon/CloudNativeCon week
In an effort of continual improvement, here’s what to expect from us this year:
Large new contributor workshops and contributor socials at all three events expected to break previous attendance records
A multiple track event in San Diego for all contributor types including workshops, birds of a feather, lightning talks and more
Addition of a “201” / “Intermediate” edition of the new contributor workshop in San Diego
Follow along with updates: kubernetes-dev@googlegroups.com is our main communication hub as always; however, we will also blog here, our Thursday Kubernetes Community Meeting, twitter, SIG meetings, event site, discuss.kubernetes.io, and #contributor-summit on Slack.
Opportunities to get involved: We still have 2019 roles available!
Reach out to Contributor Experience via community@kubernetes.io, stop by a Wednesday SIG update meeting, or catch us on Slack (#sig-contribex).
